The Constitution of Canada requires that federal electoral districts be reviewed after each decennial (10-year) census to reflect changes and movements in Canada’s population. As a result of this review process following the 2021 Canadian census, two new federal electoral districts have been formed in Oakville – Oakville East and Oakville West. The boundaries for the new Oakville West electoral district are Lake Ontario in the south, Burloak Drive / Tremaine Road in the west, Burnamthorpe Road / Lower Base Line in the north, and Sixteen Mile Creek in the east.
